So, I know we are all supposed to be hating Amazon.com right now, BUT... |
...did you know you can send people gift cards through Facebook? No more forgotten birthdays. I just found this and I am in heaven. I know what they did to Wikileaks and everything, but I have always had the best luck with them and they have the most fantastic customer service I have ever encountered. Anyway, just wanted to spread this around. Duckie

1. That sounds like a terrific way to strip all value from the card-sending process |
Nothing says "I was thinking of you" like an afterthought electronically ordered, printed and mailed at the last minute.

2. A 15 year old kid is not going to care. |
And with all of us leading such busy lives, if you're offended that someone sends you an e-gift card, then that just means you're an ungrateful person who didn't deserve me thinking of you to begin with! I'm going to send a gift card anyway, why not make it instant?

3. I agree about the 15-year-old, but... |
If you're sending your instant afterthought to an adult, why bother sending the card at all? Why not simply tweet them and say "I sent ur $ card" instead?

4. Oh, I don't send gifts to adults most of the time anyway. |
Unless it is my mother, and I just order her flowers. I'm not seeing how that is much different, but most people think it is.

5. Well, that's a good point |
I guess it's a matter of scope. It would be hard, for instance, for me to pick out and ship a floral arrangement cross-country intact, but I can select a card and hand-write a personal message without too much difficulty. But if I arrange for flower to be sent they would of course be shipped from some place geographically local to the recipient, so I wouldn't generally be able to attach a card.
Gosh. Now I can't decide.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BRAIN?!?!?

6. You can't write the card yourself... |
...but you can compose the words yourself. And that is OK!
