Last Saturday I was in the ER because of a high fever. They did an x-ray and told me I had pneumonia, and gave me some antibiotics. My fever has gone away (nothing over 99 now) and my oxygen levels are good, though I still am wheezing, and in general feel very bad/off.
Slowly, my energy level appears to be improving - I am able to walk around for a bit, maybe 10 minutes, and can handle being up and interactive with others unlike the first few days.
But, I tell you, it FEELS like it's not improving. It's weird, like I don't even feel human, much less "like myself." It feels like it will never get better. I think it's viral at this point, because I had sinus problems and a cough prior to the start of wheezing and fever. I also started prednisone for the wheezing.
Ugh!!! Any and all suggestions are appreciated, for beating this or merely for coping! It's a hard time. I know it could be worse, but it's a struggle to get though and it's terrifying.

1. finish your course of antibiotics |
|
do NOT stop taking them just because some symptoms may be better
call your doctor if things aren't progressing the way you think they should
hot showers, steam can be comforting, aspirin/motrin
SLEEP is when your body does its hardest healing work - get plenty of it

2. Oh I finished them... I'm worried that it's viral. |

I guess it will just take some time. As we all know, it's terrible coming down with something that doesn't just go away in a few days - it's very emotionally upsetting and disruptive to life in general.
I haven't been sleeping very well - I will try to get more sleep, even though I tend to feel worse when I get up.
Sorry, I'm being a baby (well, worse than one)...
