Can I block someone from posting on my Facebook?
I want to keep someone's message from ever reaching me on Facebook. Is that possible? I see her posts on Facebook and I do not wish to ever see them.

I never "friended" her so how did this happen?

Any way I can get rid of her posts?

1. "nuclear block" option under privacy settings
Go to your settings and look for the block options at the bottom it will allow you to not only make this person invisible to you but you invisible to them

2. how not to see her messages
go to the extreme upper right side of the message. When you hover over that corner, you will see a gray X. Click on that x and you will stop seeing all of her posts on the newsfeed.

I hope that helps.

5. Actually, her posts have disappeared from my FAcebook page! Isn't that odd?
I never "friended" her so maybe she has the chance to respond once and then she disappears? I don't know. I was just despondent when I saw her response and that is why I posted here...

6. Yes. You can hide threads from different people permanently.
I've had to due to right-wingnuts that I grew up with.

7. The only messages I see are her responses to others we have friended in common.
I don't see the messages that she originates because I never friended her (nor she me). But she makes ingratiating remarks that annoy me (she "married" into the family...).

8. Step 1: Click on this person's profile (it does not matter if you are/are not "friends")
Edited on Sun Mar-13-11 04:13 PM by OmahaBlueDog
2) Scroll down and look on the left hand side
3) On the left you will see an option "Report/Block This Person." Click on that.
4) A box will come up. If you are being harrassed, it gives you some options to describe the nature of the issue, but the box you are concerned with is at the bottom of the box, and says "Block {name of offending idiot} Blocking means you won't be able to see or contact each other on Facebook" Click that box, then click "Continue"
5) You will no longer be able to see one another's posts, except in games, such as Farmville.

9. Thanks! Do I have to fill in the box with a reason I want her blocked?
If I don't, will she know that I have blocked her? I'd kinda like her to know that I did block her...I just don't want to go into my reasons...

If she's in the family, and isn't dumb as a box of rocks, she'll catch on pretty quickly that she never sees your posts or profile anymore, and get the idea.

11. You and I would get the idea, but since she is so superior to the rest of us, she
will just assume that I no longer care about my family and think that is why I "never" post on Facebook...I'm not kidding...I would really like to hammer this home "I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR UGLY FACE OR READ YOUR STUPID POSTS!"
