Who are YOU calling old?
Reports in Germany just came in about finding a man from the disaster area of northern Japan alive on the remains of the roof of his house that were washed 15 kilometers out to sea.

"The exhausted old man," said the report, was 60 years old. In less than one week, I'll be 59.

Who are YOU callin' old, hey? Young German TV whippersnapper, lemme get my hands on him.........

BTW, my sister-in-law finally got through to her family in Japan (she is from the Tokyo area, has relatives in the southwest). They are OK, couldn't get through as Japan has shut down all their nuclear power plants and electricity is being rationed in their area.

1. My dear DFW!
Hells bells man, you're not old!

*I* am.

I am 67 years old, and I deal with it!

I'm glad to hear your sister-in-law's family is OK. That has to be the most terrifying thing, not being able to reach folks after a disaster of this magnitude.

Nice to see you hereabouts!

:hi:

8. Same back at ya, Peggy !
My day job has been a bit (OK a LOT) demanding of late (day and night job these days).

I gotta start to slow down sometime in the next 30 years or so, or I'll burn right out.

3. Whew! You've got twelve months until you're old.
:P

It's great that your sister-in-law has been able to confirm that her family is okay. It's such a terrible situation there.

Should we send Chuck Norris or Arnold Schwartzenegger over to your place?

10. Bring 'em on!

Norris doesn't speak German. He'd get lost (and if not, he would
be told to do so by the neighbors once they heard why he was here).

Schwarzenegger does speak German, of course, but with such a horrendous
accent that he would be quarantined in these parts until he learned to
speak proper German (sort of like the reception Louie Gohmert would get
in Oxford, England).

I may be Texan, but I can speak "Westfälisch" well enough to convince the
natives I'm one of them. Outside of Graz, I don't think Ahhhhnold could
convince anyone he's a native of their home planet.
