Thanks for vibes and good wishes.
I did very well in my interview today. I felt energized and I represented myself well, BUT...

...I don't think this is the right opportunity after all. An interview is always just as much about you learning about the organization and its leadership as it is about the organization learning about you. It left me with a bad feeling. I think I'm just better off continuing to try to address the issues at my current organization. I will just keep trying to do a good job and stay open to possibilities.

So, I'm very lucky that I have a job and have the luxury of trying to make things better, one way or the other.

:loveya:

You guys are the best.

...if you skimmed the post and are celebrating a good interview, or if you read carefully and are celebrating that I have such a good attitude about deciding not to pursue a new job opportunity.

Either way, it's always awesome to see you and I'll always share a toast with you.

:toast:

Thanks for stopping in.

:loveya:

EDIT: OR celebrating that lounge folks are great! That sounds right.

3. Was away from DU for a little while and hadn't seen the asking for vibes etc
but glad to know that things are going well for you. (had been in Chicago w/o net access...and passed through the 'Burg on Amtrak). Best wishes with the old job and everything else.

5. That is so smart to feel like you are interviewing them too. Information is information
after all.

6. Thanks.
After my last experience, I feel like I should hire a private investigator before taking a job with anybody. We're really taking just as big a risk on those hiring us as they're taking on us. And it's amazing how badly some things are run. I used to think that because something was operating and in business and had been in business for a long time, that meant that the people involved knew what they were doing. It doesn't. A lot of companies and organizations have a nice gloss, but are so messed up internally.

Anyway, besides not really taking to the CEO, I could tell something was up with the organization. I really don't want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire.

:-)

8. Some days it feels like it can't get worse, but you are smart to realize
that it can. And it has for me too. I have worked for many small companies, and I am shocked at how bad the management is at so many of them. You said a mouthful when you said that some companies don't know what they are doing.

9. I realy appreciate your comment.
Sometimes choices in life require a difficult balance between knowing when to escape a bad situation and realizing you deserve better, and knowing when to count your blessings.

10. You are doing this right. Keep your job, try to do the best you can,
and keep your antenna up. I am there too, and do make every effort to make the job I have as liveable as possible until I can escape. This is not a good time to make a break if your job is stable. Good luck.
