I smell a big, fat, republican rat! |
|
I read this over at talkingpointsmemo:
Tim Giago, a Native American journalist who publishes something called the Lakota Journal has announced that he plans to enter the senate race as an Independent. South Dakota Democrats rely on and generally get overwhelming support from the state's Native American community. So this could certainly mix things up.
I still think Daschle takes this race pretty comfortably. But this bears watching.

I wonder how much the repubs are giving this guy for his campaign? With repubs contributing heartily to people like Nader's campaign, this appears to be a new modus operandi for the repub party. Whatcha think?

Native Americans might have divided loyalties. They will have to choose between one of their own, or Daschle. I hope many of them fear throwing the election to the repugs.
Since Giago is a journalist, he may have a built-in voter base.

2. IIRC, Giago is well known as a right winger, so he may |

pull fewer votes from Daschle than you'd think.
