Question about herb pot safety. |
|
I just bought an herb pot (big pot with different pockets for different herbs) from TJ Maxx (only place I could find one). It's not ceramic - it's painted with a glaze on the outside and looks like terra cotta on the inside. I am sure this came straight out of China so I am wondering if the herbs will be safe to eat from it. Should I coat the inside with something or will that just be more chemicals to worry about and does the terra cotta need to breathe? Or is this much ado about nothing?

1. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it, but |

2. I would think washing it with some warm soapy water would be enough. |

That's what I would do.
I just planted my herbs last week.
Good luck!!
