Next up to bat... Irish Coffee ice cream! |
|
Tomorrow night we are going to a friend's 16th annual St Patrick's Day corned beef dinner. At first we were going to bring a batch of homemade Bailey's Irish Cream ice cream, but Alley found a recipe for Irish Coffee ice cream, and we could not resist the challenge.
I don't know how good the ice cream will taste because the mixture has to cool overnight before churning, but a quick taste test is very encouraging.
Ah ice cream, is there any other dish that can be served in such wide variety of flavors?

4. We made pumpkin pie ice cream last fall. |
|
I loved it. Next time I will use a slightly higher cream content to compensate for the moisture in the pumkin pie filling.

6. We have a White Mountain electric motor. |
|
My parents had one, and my grand parents had the old White Mountain hand crank version.. We kids had our turns on it, but once the ice cream started to set up we could only manage a turn or two. Good times. It cracks me up to see "Ice Cream Salt" for 3 buck at the local Ralph,s market, and a mile the other direction I pick up the same sized box of rock salt for 98 cents..
