Saturday's NCAA Tournament Thread
First round is over and the second round starts today. (Well, the NCAA now calls this the 3rd round, because of the "first four" on Tuesday and Wednesday, but I find that a hard habit to get into.)

Anyway, here are today's games:

12:15 PM (5) West Virginia vs. (4) Kentucky *CBS
2:45 PM (7) UCLA vs. (2) Florida *CBS
5:15 PM (13) Morehead State vs. (12) Richmond *CBS
6:10 PM (7) Temple vs. (2) San Diego State *TNT
7:10 PM (8) Butler vs. (1) Pittsburgh *TBS
7:45 PM (11) Gonzaga vs. (3) Brigham Young *CBS
8:40 PM (5) Kansas State vs. (4) Wisconsin *TNT
9:40 PM (6) Cincinnati vs. (3) Connecticut *TBS

I'm looking forward to Gonzaga vs. BYU. Catholics and Mormons. Most people seem to think the Catholics get the upset this time around.

So what games are you looking forward to? Any big upsets today? How's your bracket holding up? (Note: links to poll posted by xmas74 in the lounge)

1. Thanks for linking to me!
We've talked about the games but playing the brackets is just as big as the games.

I'm looking forward to the Gonzaga vs BYU and the Morehead St. vs Richmond interests me. W.V. vs Ken. usually keeps my attention and I'm originally from Wisconsin living near K St. so I'll definitely watch that game. (Go Badgers!) I usually like UConn so I'll tune in after the Wisconsin game.

Today's a good day for games!

3. it is a good day for games
:toast:

I'm looking forward to the Morehead St/Richmond game too -- good to know that at least one double-digit seed will make the sweet 16. :)

14. The Butler/Pitt game was edge of seat
incredible.

Nothing I love more than watching what is considered an underdog winning a game.

2. I'm looking forward to that sleaze bag going down in the Kentucky / West Virginia game
If it's Huggins or Calipari I really don't care, as long as one loses.

I would enjoy the K-State / Wisconsin game but I don't get TNT and I don't feel like watching it at a bar because you can't smoke in bars anymore.

Woe is me.

5. There's no couch in my computer room. Fuck the NCAA for taking the games off free TV
This is the only weekend of "must-see" TV for me.

I'm not signing up for cable just for that.

The new format just means a lot more commercials and yakking on the CBS feed. At least Sir Charles is occasionally entertaining.

19. it was really hard to see the coach and players talking later
I felt so sad for them. I'm drowning my sorrows listening to some old Cat Stevens songs...

Oh well- there's always next year- I had season tix this year and the home games were amazing. They are a great team. Just can't seem to get over the NCAA curse, or something...

:hi: thanks for sympathizing!
