Mrs. V.'s brother Woody has died.

His mama had last spoken to him on Thursday. He had a neighbor who checked on him every day (he was disabled); when she went to his apartment on Friday, there was no answer. When she checked on him this morning and there was again no answer, she went to the office and had management open the door. They found him dead. He was 57, I believe.

Because we couldn't find an airfare we could afford, Mrs. V. is on her way in the Corolla, a 500 mile drive, on which she will stop halfway and spend the night.

Some of you will remember that Mrs. V. recently went round & round with pancreatitis, which hit her on January 10, kept her in the hospital for eight days, and from which she is still recovering. I am afraid for her to be on this trip, but I'd be far more worried if she were not stopping halfway. As it is, I am concerned that she take time for herself. She is a very loving, caring, deeply-feeling woman, and gives all she can and then some to the people around her. I asked her to be careful to take care of herself, and to cradle that pancreas as if it were a tiny baby. I know she'll do what she must to take care of herself.

Please send up a good thought for my beloved. She needs us all right now. Thank you.
