Sometimes I miss the geckos of Thailand |

I lived there for three years, serving on the Peace Corps.
I met my wife there (fellow PCV) and did some amazing things.
I lived in Khon Kaen City, Northeast Thailand.
I remember a favorite restaurant 'The Parrot' that we ex-pats congregated at.
I remember the geckos, because they were small lizards that congregated themselves at lights, so they could dine on the zillions of mosquitos there.
They were everywhere, and you couldn't help but noticed how they stared patiently, waiting for just the right bug.
They had bigger lizards of course - one came to mind: the tookay.

lucky you. I strayed one night in Miami and ended up in an apartment parking lot. the wall was covered with iguanas, prolly a hundred. It completely creeped me out.
