I always weep at the end of "The Natural." Just did it again, TCM. Not just the movie, though.
I can't help but weep when Roy Hobbs hits the spectacular home run at the end of "The Natural." It was just on Turner Classic Movies, and I always promise I won't, but I do.

But you see, I grew up without a father, and in Detroit adopted Al Kaline as my role model and father figure in 1961. And he never let me down.

Al Kaline was Roy Hobbs, but in real life. Thanks, Robert Redford. And especially, thanks Al.

2. I always preferrred the book's ending
but it is a very good movie. I like it.
