Horse abuser released from prison.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- A man who pleaded guilty twice to having sex with a horse has been released from a South Carolina prison after serving 16 months. The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported Monday that 51-year-old Rodell Vereen now must serve two years of probation and register as a sex offender.

Vereen pleaded guilty in 2009 to buggery and trespassing after a woman in the northeastern part of the state found him in her barn in the Wampee community. Vereen was arrested after the owner of the horse staked out her stable and caught Vereen sneaking inside. She held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

Vereen was on probation at the time for a 2007 incident involving the same horse.

He's been told to stay away from the woman's stables.
