Edited on Wed Mar-23-11 08:33 AM by MissHoneychurch
Liz Taylor dies at 79

Elizabeth Taylor, the much-married actress who starred in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, has died at the age of 79.

The Associated Press quoted a publicist as saying that Taylor died of congestive heart failure. ABC reported that she was with relatives when she died.

12. Wasn't Michael the husband who died who was her soul mate?
Then afterward, she got with Eddie Fisher and all that drama? If you get a chance to see her Biography on the Bio Channel, watch it. It is quite interesting.

15.  Mike Todd was her true love, Michael Wilding was her second husband
Richard might have been a close second in the true love department though

* Conrad "Nicky" Hilton (6 May 1950 -- 29 January 1951) (divorced)
* Michael Wilding (21 February 1952 -- 26 January 1957) (divorced)
* Michael Todd (2 February 1957 -- 22 March 1958) (widowed)
* Eddie Fisher (12 May 1959 -- 6 March 1964) (divorced)
* Richard Burton (15 March 1964 -- 26 June 1974) (divorced)
* Richard Burton (again) (10 October 1975 -- 29 July 1976) (divorced)
* John Warner (4 December 1976 -- 7 November 1982) (divorced)
* Larry Fortensky (6 October 1991 -- 31 October 1996) (divorced)

16. Well, I did say Michael.
She would have only been married 3 times if he hadn't died.

10. I'm so sadened by this. We'll not see her like again. Also...
although kind of irreverent, I can't help but imagine Rip Taylor saying "I've never gotten so much publicity in my life!"

14. When I was a little tomboy feeling pitiful without a lovely middle
name like all the other southern girls, I asked my mommy to call me Elizabeth because she was soooo beautiful. Peace to you, Elizabeth.

19. IMO, her death is such a loss. I saw the Biography special
Edited on Fri Mar-25-11 08:24 PM by Lindsey
on her last night and it was wonderful. I loved that the show highlighted her wonderful sense of humor. I don't know how many people know that there was so much more to her than her stunning beauty. IMO she was an excellent actress and she was one of the (if not THE)first celebrities to totally step up to the plate regarding the AIDS/HIV crisis. She created at least two organizations to raise money for this horrible disease. Plus, she visited patients and hugged them when others wouldn't get near some these poor souls. She also spoke out on many, many occasions about this disease. In the past, whenever I've needed to feel better, I watch Father of the Bride. I'm so sad that she's no longer w/us but happy for her that she's now (IMO)w/her two true loves, Michael Todd and Richard Burton.

20. Seems like she's more a Euro phenom. U.S. don't care or what?!1
My old, dead, wise mother said, "Everything goes out of fashion. People, too, go out of fashion."

I've heard some idiot young people say, "What's all the fuss (they don't know the word "fuss") about that lady. She was an old fat lady in a wheelchair."

When Jackie died this young little twit who is now the boss of a region said, "I know this lady was the wife of a president, but OMG there's been NOTHING on t.v. except this lady just because she died!1"

Repeating, this twit is now a HUGH boss.
