First the info:

The H2 Hummer is basically a Hummer body over a Surburban frame and engine. So somebody is paying for cometics to get a 9 miles to the gallon ego trip.

Now the art and action:

What car better symbolizes warped national priorities than the Hummer? Hummers get an environmentally disastrous nine (yes, nine) miles to the gallon. Already wealthy businesspeople get obscene tax breaks to buy them for next to nothing. They perpetuate our dependence on oil and oil wars as they normalize militarism in our neighborhoods. They have a horrendously high collision and fatality rate, so they don't make any of us one bit safer. Let's face it: Hummers are a bummer - for our environment, our children, and our world.

Getting a mechanic with an axle to that stream bed just might cost more than a new H2. But you've got to give the owners credit - at least they're using an SUV roughly for what it was designed to do. As opposed to all of those suburban commandos who drive decked Land Rovers and Hummers to pick up their kids from practice.
