I am FURIOUS!! Pls rd , need Urgent advice.

What the fuck! My mom just got back from urgent care (7:30pm) and the receptionist told her her doctor was in the whole day. I called them this afternoon and the receptionist told me that the doctor was on vacation. Now the last time I called them, which was about a month ago, they told me the same thing. The late night receptionist told my mom they do this to shoo people away. I cannot believe they would lie just to shoo people away because the doctor is "too busy". This is unethical , outragious and disgusting. And I would be the last to believe that our healthcare system would be so grossly incompetent and manipulative. I get shaky just thinking about it. How can they do this to my mom? Meanwhile she has been complaining for months about her thyroid. I'm fucking furious.

Is this illegal? And besides filing a complaint, what can I do? I want to do everything to bring these bitches down.

edit: I worked at a major research hospital for several years and it was not uncommon to make people wait for 4-6 mos for an appt. Not because I wanted to, but because the Docs schedule was so overbooked. Yes, people were mad, but I was honest with them.

I'd find another doc, and stress to them that her symptoms warrant being seen now.

If she's really bad off, there's always the ER. Let them sort out the system for her.

I was told that the doctors didn't want to be disturbed in the middle of the night, so they had to stop my labor!

Anyhow, I would call back and ask who you can lodge a formal complaint to. Also, it can't hurt to notify the media?
