You know what I'm getting kind of sick of |
|
The people who post the following status on Facebook...
"I have a personal reason for ASKING if everyone could please put this as their status for 1 hour. I know the ones that will. Think of the ones you know or love who have or had cancer. My wish is that 2011 a cure will be found. Will you post it for 1 hour? Do it for all. There are too many to mention who have fought and who ...are fighting. I hope to see this in all the status of all my friends."
Of course there's the unspoken next thought, "and if I don't, that means YOU don't care about people with cancer!"
Yeah, or maybe I just don't want to spam everybody on my friends list with a guilt driven chain letter.
I know, it's a stupid thing to get worked up over, but man, a lot of people on Facebook do this.

2. One of my friends had this as her status the other day...loved it.. |
|
Copy this and put it in your status if you know someone or have heard of someone who knows someone or have heard of someone who may know someone; or if you don't know anyone or even if you've just heard of someone who doesn't know anyone then do still copy this....It's important to spread the message. Oh and the hearts... ♥ ♥ ♥ for crap's sake don't forget the hearts! ♥ ♥ ♥

3. Oh god. I am SO tempted to post that. |
|
Probably shouldn't stir things up, though.

6. I did this one today... |
|
"You and I end up in a cop car together, using only 4 words, what would you say to me? Note: if you comment you have to post this as your status, so I may comment on yours as well. Be a good sport and play along. 4 words are harder than you think.."
Hey, I had a good line, and fair is fair...
I ignore the guilt ones.

I just have a problem with the guilt inducing ones.

8. It's not spam if it's Facebook |
|
Your friends come to you to see what you've posted, you're not sending it to them (i.e. - spam).
I largely ignore these status updates however, the one you chose to use in your example I did put up for an hour. I did so because my sister posted it and she did so because my father died of cancer last year. No subtext about you at all. Oddly, life is not all. about. you.
