A small percentage of posters can screw up that whole forum.
If you're not well known, you're a possible troll and your motives are questioned, regardless of what you post. The paranoia is hilarious. Once someone questions something, it snowballs and the swarm swoops in.

Many have, what I call, web balls. They post shit that they wouldn't dream of saying to someone's face in real life. Anonymity can bring out the worst in some people. Its a real shame when you see it happen to people who use to be decent, but over time, have become nasty. In their overzealous quest to weed out disruptors, they have become disruptors. I've seen several get tombstoned for this.

These are people that maybe have this ONE outlet for all their anger and angst. We all know they sure wouldn't have the stones to act that way without the anonymity of the internet to protect them--they'd get slapped into the hereafter!
