Lindsay Lohen drops her last name - hopes to reinvent herself
Seriously?

How about getting off the drugs and stop injecting your face with whatever nasty chemicals you use to distort it. Better yet ditch the mom, she's even worse than the dad.

Lohan To Drop Last Name

Lindsay Lohan is set to drop her last name in an attempt to put her troubled past behind her, according to the actress' mother. The Mean Girls star is planning to relaunch herself as simply 'Lindsay' as she struggles to rebuild her career following a string of personal problems and stints in jail and rehab.

And in an apparent snub to Lindsay's father Michael Lohan, her younger sister Ali and mother Dina are also planning to drop the family name and use Dina's maiden moniker 'Sullivan' instead.

Dina tells PopEater.com, "Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay. Plus, me and Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan."

1. Poor sad thing really thinks she is queen shit don't she.
I imagine in ten years she will make 100 bucks a trick based on who she used to be.

2. Single name recognition:

While Lindsay Lohan is busy attending fashion shows in Paris today (here she is posing before the Chanel show), her lawyers have filed a lawsuit against financial company E-Trade, saying the "milkaholic" baby named Lindsay in its latest commercial was modeled after her, reports the New York Post.

She's seeking $100 million in damages.

You can see the ad on USA TODAY's Super Bowl Ad Meter, here.

Lohan's lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, said the actress has the same single-name recognition as Oprah or Madonna, and wants an injunction to force the spot off the air.  Chris Brown, a spokesman for Grey Group, which produced the spot, told the Post it's "just used a popular baby name that happened to be the name of someone on the account team."

3. Gotta try something
What she's been doing hasn't been working out very well. Good luck to her. I can't imagine what it would be like to have achieved (or been handed) so much at such a young age. It's undone so many before, and will undoubtedly do so again.

4. You never know if the next kid actor is going to turn out to be another Lindsay or another Natalie
I mean Natalie Portman has been acting since age 11 and now she's an Oscar winner and one of Hollywood's top actresses.

Honestly, I think it gets right down to the parents. Being the parent to a Lindsey Lohan or Britney Spears or any other child actor is like hitting the lottery. Suddenly these kids turn into cash cows and one thing very common with any child actor who hits the skids into adulthood - usually they had shitty parents. Parents who had stars in their eyes and couldn't wait to score all that hollywood cash instead of doing whatever it takes to give their child a normal life. Not all of them turn out wretched. Justin Timberlake was a disney kid and he's doing fine, making a strong move into acting. Anna Paquin won her Oscar at age 12 and yet she's had a low key life but doing good work in the business (even won a Golden Globe a few years back).

Lindsay needs to divorce her parents - both of them.

5. Tiffany actually did that
it's called "emancipation". (Come to think of it, she also dropped her last name, Darwisch.) The Artist Formerly Known As Ms. Lohan doesn't have to do that, because, despite abundant evidence to the contrary, she's a legal adult.

9. Really? Can you tell us which of her epic performances makes you say that
I will watch the movie if you tell me which one. Looks like everything remotely "good" she was in was a remake. And all of the originals featured better actors. Hayley Mills. Jody Foster. Buddy Hackett.

:-)

15. Please. LL was better than Hayley Mills on The Parent Trap
Mills played a girl who grew up in California and another who grew up in Boston; yet both girls sounded exactly the same - with a British accent which didin't belong in the story.

LL managed to make the twins be different, and she made one sound British and the other sound American

I agree that she has potential. I hope it's not too late for her

11. Well, Dina needs to learn proper grammar.
"Plus, me and Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan." Me and Ali? It should be Ali and I.

12. Changing the name(s) to protect the guilty is an old tactic that rarely works.
As for trying to create a single name "brand", well, good luck with that. In the first place, the few who have pulled it off had either talent or a remorseless drive to succeed, and the young woman in question has not demonstrated the slightest hint that she has either. Add to that that her given name is pretty common amongst her generational milieu, notwithstanding the vanity vowel alteration, and you have a strategy for which complete and utter failure seems preordained.

and she can just use that...very stylish.
Of course when she gets out, she will be old.

20. Perhaps it's an exercise to extract herself from poor parenting?
I mean, if you have shit for parents, maybe you don't want a shitty name.

Has anyone one thought of:

Lindsay Wagner? Oh, that's taken...

Lindsay Onthewagon? That's so VW...

Lindsay Loopner? No, that's spinless...

Oh well, you keep going, I'm sure there are lots to pick from!
