LOTS of now-big names were in this 1982 (That long ago??!!) release, including several who have since won the academy award.

Aloha, Mr. Hand.

9. The most important thing I took away from that movie:
When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV.

18. Even though Kashmir was playing:)
Also, I bet VH1 will cut the hell out of that movie, plus those fucking commercials?

Not even worth it on that network:)

20. People often take that as a mistake, but it's supposed to be funny
Ratner couldn't manage to get his hands on the correct Zep record so he went with what he had.

19. Make up your mind, dude, is he gonna shit or is he gonna kill us?
Jefferson's Brother: First he's gonna shit, then he's gonna kill us!
Jeff Spicoli: Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

Love that movie!

21. Martk "Rat" Ratner was based on Andy Rathbone who wrote the "For Dummies" books
Andy Rathbone was the student that Cameron Crowe based Mark "Rat" Ratner on. He became famous in his own right for writing many of the "for Dummies" help books series

22. DOS For Dummies...
The book that started an empire.

I didn't know that about Rathbone.

(As for the movie...I bought the DVD on the cheap from a discount pile a few years ago...the editing that has to be done to make it TV friendly just ruins it for me.)

24. I recorded it
And they hacked the crap of it. You'd think VH-1 in the middle of the night... Obviously, they had to cut the language and the nudity but apparently Mr, Hand is no longer a dick. He's a fool. The scene with the girls and the carrots - hacked to pieces.

26. Well, rent it from Netflics or someone...It deserves better than what it got from VH1...
Got treated as bad as Blazing Saddles, evidently...
