...was like, "Really, Melissa?" LOL My response was, "Just posting stuff to make people think."
I am sure I am getting prayed for right now. But seriously, this is not a secret. Bible Scholars have been saying this for decades!

3. Duckie , if prayers were money
I would be a wealthy old woman .

I remember a sunday school class when I was young called "Seeming contradictions in the Bible" All it did was to help convince me that religion is bull sh##--along with people like Richard Dawkins and Carl Sagan.

6. I got some other very snotty posts. Here's another reply from me...
"Wow. I'm surprised. You can question the origination, the authorship of the Bible and still believe in God and all that Christianity holds. Catholics do it every day. I was taught in catacism class that we don't really know where the bible comes from, but it is a nice guidebook to a good life. Why isn't that a valid viewpoint? Why are you comparing that to Santa Claus and Elvis (someone said they read a book the other day that said that Elvis was a live and Santa was real)? THAT seems more rabid than the article. I didn't realize that thinking and questioning was against the rules, but apparently I am not allowed to do that. Once someone tells me that I feel more like I'm being controlled than loved."

I'm sure I'll be defriended. Good. I don't want to associate with people who don't think I'm allowed to think.

7. Way to go.
Love Bart Ehrman. He has some great books.
He must be on a 'most wanted' poster somewhere.

8. And the funniest thing is....
...one of my friends just said that the article puts forth claims with no real proof, which is ironic, because so does the bible, so his argument sort of proves that which the article is trying to get across. LOL
I wish you guys were my friends on Facebook. I have some good shit all the time!

10. someplace there is a website devoted to debunking Ehrman
and it is comical as hell. All "proof" that Ehrman is wrong is based on the bible, which as you note, is not exactly a fact book.

11. I can't post this stuff on Facebook
I have close family that are non-denom Christians and I don't want to upset them.....love them tooo much.

When my Dad and Bro were still alive, they went to our Catholic Church with us and we went to their Christian Church. It worked for us. God is God.

Sometimes FB screws up good relationships, ya know? :-)

12. Only three people freaked...
...and I don't really care so much about them. The people who are important to me STOOD up for me. Most of my family is Catholic anyway, and don't believe the bible should be taken literally anyway. My sunday school teacher, a classmate, and coworker are the ones freaking out.
Send me a PM if you want to be facebook friends. I like to stir the pot, as it were.
