Late 70's. Kentucky/Tennessee border area. I wasn't a BIG fan
of MOST Southern cooking (MMMMM... red bean n' rice!!!). You
could sometimes just BARELY spot them on the side of the road
or State Highway. Literally run-down shacks with proprietors
in their 70's who had gotten up once again at 3 AM to start
their pit fire and turn out some of the cheapest, HUGEST,
lip-smackin'-orgasmically-deliciousest barbecue pork sandwiches
in the fucking UNIVERSE.

And Burgoo. Don't forget the Burgoo. A big bowl for a buck
of leftover meat-and-vegetable stew... perhaps 8-10 different
types of meat and 10-15 different veggies in that one $1 bowl.

the dentist's office.
