3. Generally not. One exception that I know of - Cognac.
It will lose a lot of the olfactory wonderfulness and some of the taste over time. Best to consume it in a month or less after opening.

That's right, a quart bottle. Of English gin. Which meant it had to have been made before the UK converted to the metric system. And yet here I am, big as life. :-)
