Anybody really good with geneology/classification of familial-relationships questions?

I need to know what is the relationship between me and the son of my great-grandmother's first cousin.

I do realize it's negligible but I do need to know precisely; I might have to write him and his mother letters because his mother is likely the last living relative I have who ever would have met my great-grandfather. (She'd have been a child when my greats married.) He seems more likely to respond than she does.

1. Instead of drawing a few pages of ancestral lines, why not...

open with "we are distantly related." Then explain the relationship and what info you are seeking. That should get you the info you seek and possibly more.
