1. well, in Yellowstone .... |
|
my brother reported to work in the end of May, and the snow was 12' deep on either side of the road. The ice didn't melt off Lake Yellowstone until mid-June.
My friends skied at Mammoth Lakes, CA, on July 4th, though the snow was lousy. I was there, and went bike riding instead. Earlier that year, the snow base was 15'.
One friend skied into the east entrance of Yosemite in early May, and had to dig down in the snow to get into the huts. A week later there were avalanches that killed a man trying to plow the roads in this entrance for the first time.
