How to respond on DU if you don't understand, or like a post

There are two ways to respond.

Say someone posts something like "is all coffee the same?"

There is the incorrect way:

"What??? Are you stupid????"

And there is the correct way:

"No - there are two kinds, arabica and robusto"

or

"Geez I don't know - anyone here with coffee expertise?"




Another example - lets just say we see a post like this:

"I wonder what Richard Nixon thinks about the Tea Party?"

There is the incorrect way:

"What?? You think Nixon is still alive??? You dumbshit!"

and there is the correct way

"Nixon died in the 90's, so if he were brought back to life, he'd say 'BRAAAIIINS!'"

See - using humor, yet not being a prick about it
