Anyone here ever see "Wild and Wonderful White Family"? |
|
Really interesting movie that focuses on the White clan from West Virginia, famous for 'the dancing outlaw' (who is now dead) and his son, Jesco White, who carries on his father's talent.
It shows a part of America that people don't usually see, and the local government is angry that focusing on this clan will give "West Virginia a bad name."
really interesting doc

and have you seen the old pbs doc, "Dancing Outlaw". From the 80's. Jesco is 30 years younger, a devoted Elvis fan and has a bit on the Rosanne sitcom once he gets to Hollywood. What a hoot!

2. Yes indeed. Watch it along with "Winter's Bone." Painful and fascinating. |

There's also an awful but kind of fascinating exploitation film "about" Jescoe, but I can't remember the name right off. It's bleak, bleak, bleak and then it gets weird, weird, weird.

3. Isn't that the alternate title for almost every sitcom in existence? |
