4. Thanks.
I have $30 to last until April 8 when I will get a paycheck that won't entirely go to the mortgage. I know there are people who live on $30 a month, or worse. I'm certainly fat enough and not starving and my son has never missed a meal and we are not behind on the mortgage so I should count my blessings. But we are ready for a better life, as are many!

my father was a union iron worker in the 80's and he seemed almost constantly laid off. i was terrified when he had to move to kentucky for a short while to find work.

3. My son said this at bedtime last night...
...I hadn't even fully realized he was aware that my husband has been looking for work, since my son is in school all day and then after-school, and my husband is always busy - he has an unpaid apprenticeship (learning a new skill) and does odd jobs and does occasionally work as a musician. I guess I should have talked to my son about it earlier.
