Edited on Thu Mar-31-11 07:53 AM by charlie and algernon

Mine:

Florida Marlins - Most likely finish third in the NL East, but if their pitching is healthy, could compete for a Wild Card spot.

Baltimore Orioles - Will (Should) do better this year, could have 75 to 85 wins, but not enough in the powerful AL East. Another year of 4th or 5th in the division. Sigh.

46. From your lips.....
I'm reserving judgement for now. The starting line-up is pretty solid. Pitching is always a crap shoot. CC was a little shaky today but Joba stepped up. We'll see.

Will continue their losing ways with idiot owner Frank McCourt, new manager Don Mattingly, and a sad roster of pitiful pitchers who never should have made it to the big leagues.

I've been a Met fan--win or lose--since I was 6, and despite my loyalty to the Mets, I don't think they'll do very well this year.
Bernie Madoff singlehandedly ruined my team :grr:  ;(

12. I love my Bucs,
I think the moves they made the last couple of years who are now their starting lineup was pretty good. I like them, maybe even to the point where .500 isn't unreasonable.

14. God I hope you're right - this season makes 19 years since they've seen post-season play.
...or have even played .500

I dread the annual trading deadline because I know every decent prospect will be leaving town.

20. Not this year,
virtually everyone with value is still under their rookie contracts. Cutch, Walker, Alverez, Tabata we have for another couple of years.

This will probably be the first year in a long while where nobody's calling the Pirates for salary dumps.

10. If Morneau is back to stay
and everyone stays reasonably healthy, I expect my Twins to claim their 7th division title in the last 10 years. Beyond that, I am not sure how far they might go. It's all matchups in the post season.

But I like the the Red Sawx to win it all, probably via beating the Phils in the WS. Gotta say that would be a hell of a WS.

13. When you're a Cub fan you treat the whole season the way players treat a no-hitter in progress.
Somewhere in the middle of things, once you realize there's a chance at a no-hitter, you clam up. You never say the pitcher's got a no-hitter going.

With the Cubs, same deal. Somewhere along the middle of the season when you realize they're doing good-- no 'June Swoon,'-- you take a deep breath and hold it. The moment you say they have a chance, they have no chance.

I say that every year. Last year for the first time it happened to be true. I also predict every year that the Saints are going to the Super Bowl. Ironically, both predictions finally came true in the same year. :) For a brief time, I was a genius!

42. Dodgers. Probably not much better than last year. I did use it as an excuse
to have hot dogs, including the "Official Hot Dog of Los Angeles", i.e. the bacon wrapped hot dog, which found its origins in Mexico City, mid 20th century, then worked its way north to Tijuana, finally crossing the border and taking over the streets of LA, to be finally recognized as our official hot dog.

49. I was AT Opening Day yestereday in DC...damn it was COLD!
Should not have to wear a Parka during Cherrry Blossom season! That said, even though they lost 2-0 the Nats played really well, including some really good defense (outside of the 1st inning goof) and their pitching was pretty good-- Livan doesn't throw hard, radar indicated many 67 mph pitches but he still has some good stuff. I think they will be better..around .500. I think with luck they might even finish third in the division. I'm not convinced the Marlins are that much better than them, sorry C+A. But everyone around here knows in 2012 that the Nats are looking towards with the return of Strasburg and with Bryce Harper coming up.
