3. He played both bass AND stick on that album...
As well as all the other Crim albums he played on. You can witness his multi-instrument mastery on the "deja VROOOM" DVD.

5. Yeah, I love Crimson too...
I have seen them several times in a few variations. I saw the Discipline tour, and a couple of later ones that I don't believe were associated with a particular album. I have also seen Adrian Belew and the Bears a couple of times.

Last night I saw a band which comes the closest to me of any, perhaps even eclipsing Crimson in some ways. It was Chris Poland's Ohm. Wow, can they cook! Poland is the guitarist from Megadeath's first 3 albums. He was originally a jazz fusion player and he has come back to it. He is very much like Alan Holdsworth... On bass was Robertino Pagliari. He plays a 6 string fretless bass and is one badass! On drums was Ginger Bakers son, Kofi. A very good drummer, having toured professionally since the age of 7 with his dad.

That wasn't it however. The Frank Gambale Trio was the final band of the night. To me he is the most fluidic speed burner of all. What a guitarist!

If you love intense music, these guys will burn you a new one.
