Doing a wedding shower tomorrow for my soon to be daughter in-law. Any advise, tips, fun games?
I am making my list, and checking it twice...

1. If everyone knows each other where everybody writes 5 words down on a piece of paper and people |
|
have to guess whose words are whose. You pick words that have great meaning to you. I played it once, with family, and it was fun. But it will not work if people don't know each other.

unbeknown to the bride-to-be, someone is writing down what she is saying as she opens the gifts:
"Oh this is perfect."
"Just what I needed"
"I really wanted this"
"such a pretty color"
stuff like that.
Afterward's it's read back as "things the bride says on her wedding night"!
On second thought - might be a little weird if she's your daughter-in-law. Probably more apropos for young friends amongst themselves. . .

4. The best game at the shower I planned |
|
was where you e-mail the groom and ask him questions about their relationship, about himself, and about the bride, then ask the bride the same questions. The answers were HILARIOUS!

5. Don't make people play those humiliating games. |
|
I stopped going to showers years ago because of them. (I send the gift).

It went great. She thought the cake was beautiful, and balloons do make everything more festive. We played a couple easy games, How well do you know the Bride, How well do you know the Groom. (Think newlywed game)
One of the best was two teams make wedding dresses for the Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom to wear using toilet paper. It was pretty darned funny.
