College Basketball ends tonight. All I got to say is bye-bye
After the final whistle tonight of the Butler-UConn game, the college basketball season comes to an end, and also with it, the most over-hyped, over analyzed, over done tournament in sports. ESPN in particular, obsessed about this tournament ad-nauseum. Not a day went by without any of their shows incessantly boring me to death about Jimmer, or UConn, or some other over-blown story that every analyst had to examine 6 ways to Sunday. There were other sports to cover, but you would never know it since everything revolved about 10 guys in shorts, running around on a basketball court. This was the sports universe.

The NBA and NHL playoffs are coming up, with teams playing for their playoff lives. NASCAR is in full swing. The baseball season is opening, the NFL lockout continues. But all of that took a back seat to college basketbore. Get the game over with tonight, and get college basketball out of my life for 6 months. Overkill to say the least!!

4. Either that, or their team stayed home.
Or went to the NIT.

3. Well...
1) the NBA is full of prima donnas and assholes, and 4 of 7 games? Please, why not just take forever?
2) the only sport more boring than hockey is soccer
3) NASCAR sucks ASS
4) baseball? Zzzzzzz. Take me out to the naptime.

Let's see. This year's tournament saw every single #1 and #2 seed upset. In the Elite 8, two of the four games were one-possession games, including an OT game. A third game was within a bucket until the last minute. The 4th game saw the last remaining #1 seed smacked by a #11 seed. It has been an awesome tournament and it has left every other sports event in the dust.

5. First off, I live in Ct., and could care less about the team.
Secondly, sorry, but this years tournament sucked ass. I'd rather see a good NHL game than 10 men running around in shorts. Third, to you, baseball is boring because your team is probably in the lower five in wins. Your awesome tournament was anything but, and didn't deserve all the attention it got. One thing it did do was save me money on Sominex.

6. Luckily, without a TV, I've been spared all the inevitable over the top hyping
But the games themselves have been exciting, and have enjoyed watching many of them on my computer, and am psyched for tonight's championship game . If college hoops isn't your thing, then that's just fine. I am very aware of the hypocrisies, exploitation etc inherent in big time college athletics, but once the game starts, I thoroughly enjoy watching the great athleticism of the players , and excitement of the game.

8. You can focus on more than one thing at a time
I have. I watched a lot of tournament games, including all the Elite 8 and Final 4 games. I also followed Coyotes hockey (they don't play til Thursday). I also watch the Suns but I haven't been playing close attention as they have no chance to make the playoffs. I still watched Denver and LA yesterday. I'm also following scoreboard updates of the Rockies in their opening games, I also watched the Cubs & Pirates on WGN a few days ago.

I expect when the NHL and NBA playoffs get rolling, they will be covered extensively like NCAA Basketball, Women's and Men's are in post-season.

9. Sure I can, but...
Apparently the media, especially ESPN can't. There is more to sports than the NCAA tourney.
