Any other Loungers hooked on Minecraft?

I've been playing for about a month, and I can't help myself. I'm positively obsessed with creating my little world, building crazy things, and exploring the depths of the earth for rare minerals. If the Beta is this addictive, I can't wait to see how time-burgling the finished product is.

So, any other Minecrafers here? Have you gone deep in search of diamonds? Have you built towers to the top of the sky? Has a Creeper ever blown you into a million tiny little pixels?

1. Labours of love like this are never really out of beta

I've been following this, but I haven't really had the time to try it out yet, especially since it's the kind of timesink that would totally drown me. Looks a lot like Dwarf Fortress without many of the UI and gameplay annoyances, but also without all the suicidal alcoholic dwarves.
