Your description fits me, as well, except I'm on the East Coast, LOL!

And 9/11 was the tipping point for me, scared me witless and I decided I'd better start paying attention and learn what was going on... :(

I sure hope the rough divisions here don't get taken too personally. We aren't unified and that makes it as dicey as it is interesting here.

3. I'm not new, but I rarely come to the lounge

After today, I expect things to get really scary in the main halls of DU and I think I'd like to just hang out here with the cool kids if you'll have me.

5. I can sympathize.

When I was first on DU and become stressed by everything (Iraq war ;(), I would come to The Lounge because I usually found something to make me laugh... And the folks here are nice, too. :pals:

7. I'm not new to DU and I used to peek in here only rarely, but now I love the Lounge

And come here all the time because of the funny, intelligent and brilliant people who post here.

10. The Lounge has changed a little, I think.

It seems like there used to be some more serious posts here. But the posts I see now are still funny and clever, and I agree that, when times get tough, The Lounge is still the best place on DU to relieve stress... :hi:
