I'm coming out
not that anyone cares, but I wasn't kidding in my past posts. I spent a lot of time trying to make women happy, but they never were in the long run because I am gay. I was married and divorced 4 times before the age of 32. That isn't normal.

So.

I've had experiences that lead me to where I'm going, and hope it works out.

This is not a sex thread (for the moderators)

This is meant only to individually express my hope for continued strength in a format that I feel relatively comfortable in.

I will lose quite a bit.

If you think of how it could be for you, triple it for me.

Hello!!!!!!!

14. The truth will set you free
I hope the strength of your liberation will be far greater than the fear of disapproval, for the only approval which really matters is your own.

18. As another gay man, may I offer you some advice?
First of all...congratulations. You're being true to yourself. This is to be celebrated. :-)

But, my friend. DON'T rush into telling EVERYONE...your family, friends and co-workers. I DON'T want to dampen your enthusiasm for coming out. But this isn't an easy process for some people.

Do you have a gay/lesbian hotline or group or organization in your area? Talk to them, first. Seriously. Get some advice from people who have been there...who have experienced the coming out process themselves.

I can only offer my experiences. I'm a 47 year old man. I came out to my parents 20 years before...when I wasn't ready for the emotional response from my family over the news of my homosexuality. It was rough at first. My family is ok with it now...very accepting. But it took some time for them to deal with it.

Again, I don't want to suggest that it WILL be hard for you. But it might. Please don't rush into it.

And there are supporting people here at DU...gay and straight. We'll be here to offer you support, encouragement.

You've made a huge step, my friend. Congratulations. :-)

Terry
