Family traditiona?
Growing up, my mom had 4 siblings, and my dad had 5 siblings. We never called the uncles or aunts with a proper greeting, like "Aunt Barbara" or "Uncle Freddy." We just called them by their name or nickname.

So I wondered....who had to address aunts and uncles with an "Aunt" or "Uncle" traditional? Or was there a lot less formal discussion for you growing up?

I wouldn't say my family was formal in any way, and even if it was, we seemed to still relate to the looser manners.

1. We always referred to them as aunt or uncle and that included great aunts and uncles too.

2. I had/have one niece who always used aunt when addressing me. It was
not something she was told to do, she just did it. After she became an adult she just refers to me with my name, but her kids call me aunt... Same for their other aunts and uncles. My family is way less formal.

3. Oh, we did. It was always Aunt This or Uncle That.
To this day, I still call them Aunt and Uncle, even the ones who are only about 7-8 years older than I am. I couldn't imagine calling them by their first name. My nieces and nephews call me Aunt Bunny, too.

4. I still, to this day, will address them as "Aunt X" or "Uncle Y."

Which is sort of weird, since my extended family is pretty informal, but all the cousins do it to their respective aunts and uncles. I guess it's just a family thing for us.

5. My nieces and my nephew don't call me Aunt Amy....
actually, my nephew usually rolls his eyes and says AAAMMMMMYYYY...but the great nieces and nephews call me Aunt Amy or Mamie.....I freaking love it. Took the great nephews to breakfast this morning and had a blast in the grass in front of the restaurant while my fiance paid the bill. I came home with about 15 rocks that Ry gave to his Aunt Amy!

I don't care either way....I love them all.

6. Both of my parents came from large families.
We were blessed with so many aunts and uncles. I miss those days.

There are only a few left, now in their 80s. I always called them "Aunt" and "Uncle". Still do.
