THE AFL has recalled more than 200,000 Auskick CD-ROMs after a young boy discovered a picture of a topless woman among images of football stars.

League chief executive Andrew Demetriou yesterday apologised to parents and children across the nation.

"We've acted swiftly," he said. "We're angry that it's happened."

The image is contained in one of the folders that support the CD's operations.

"It was discovered by a young Auskicker when working through the CD-ROM," Mr Demetriou said.

"It's not actually on the CD-ROM as you watch it – it's behind the CD-ROM on a lot of files."

Between 30,000 and 40,000 copies of the CD are already in the hands of boys and girls aged five to 12.
