Until I was 6, we lived in Connecticut in a house on the corner at the top of a hill
sloping down from front-to-back. I learned to ride a bike by myself going down that
hill (scared shitless). It was unbelievably steep.

We moved to Michigan but, just coincidentally, MiddleFingerMomSis moved about
5-10 miles away from that childhood home 30 years later. Once, when visiting, I
drove over to take a look at it. That daredevil hill was the most gentle, boring
incline that you could ever imagine.

Topography musta settled quite a bit in those intervening 30 years.

8. reminds me of the Bisbee 1000
thought the youngest should enter the year he did all the fence work up on the mountain behind the house (30 minute STEEP climb just to start working - all on steep rocky ground)
