I figured it out. Or maybe the problem is Itunes. Which I also dislike but hate a lot less than Windows Media Player or all the other options I have tried.
I still don't think I like Windows 7.

I use an iMac with both OS'es on it, since I'm a gamer and not enough games run on the Mac side. Very few problems from Win 7, and no more severe than the ones that happen occasionally with Snow Leopard.
You tried Winamp? I use that all the time for playing music in Windows. In Snow Leopard I use iTunes.

I became sick and tired of all the problems with Windows, so next computer I bought was a Mac Mini. I love it!
