I am going to quit smoking.
at what point in time does that this become a False statement?

or

Is it forever to remain a True statement?

2. I quit last November. I still crave, I hate the craving, but at least I don't say I'm going to quit
anymore.

I say I don't smoke.

The cravings are there though still, been eating a lot of pistachios.

Good luck if you're trying to quit, you can do it, millions do!

:P

4. When I knew that I was (ahem) "almost ready" to quit smoking...
Edited on Sun Apr-17-11 11:11 PM by MiddleFingerMom
.
.
.
...as an extra incentive, I stopped buying cigarettes by the carton (they were
about $20 a carton then) and started buying them by the much more expensive
per-pack price (about $3 - $3.50, I think).
.
.
.
I spent that extra money for TWO FULL YEARS before I finally said, "Today."
.
.
.
Three packs-a-day. Cold turkey. I haven't smoked since 1998.
.
.
.
.
.
But you HAVE to be ready.

6. Hey, just so ya know, I do not smoke. Someone else made this statement
to me...for many years they have said this.

I tend to think of it as so much bullshit at this point.

8. please see above post #6 ---
I quit smoking tobacco 10 years ago and, actually for me, it was not that hard.

Sometimes, watching an old black and white movie, I get the urge but, I no longer hang out with people that smoke so, I am rarely tempted.

The smell of tobacco, I like.

The smell left behind --- not so much.

13. I know someone who told me this two months ago while smoking a cigarette
The guy is a total burn-out and this is very indicative of his overall pattern, but he said "I'm going to quit smoking" and two months later he smokes like a muthaeffin CHIMNEY.

:-)
