3. Now, see, I am only going along for the ride...
My partner is rooting for Uconn. I am rooting for "Hurricane" or "Mint Julep." My friend Alan's partner Todd is going to the games with Jeff, and Alan and I will be at the bar waiting for them.

2. Have you looked to see who is playing in the clubs
around town over the weekend?

5. Try this link:
http://www.offbeat.com/listings.html. You can search for music listings around town. I did a quick look at Saturday night. If you are willing to get out of the French Quarter there is a great show at Rock n' Bowl (Big Sam and the Funky Nation plus Rebitrth Brass Band).

Rock n. Bowl is a trip. It is an old upstairs bowling alley with a cheesy disco ball. They also have great music. You can bowl and then boogie the night away.

6. Do you have reservations at any restaurants yet?
Edited on Fri Apr-02-04 10:24 AM by GumboYaYa
I would recommend that you do that today if you want to get into some of the more popular places?

I strongly recommend The Upperline. They have green tomato remoulade salad that is one of the best things I have ever eaten. From the quarter you take the streecar Uptown to Upperline. The restaurant is about a block off of St. Charles Avenue.

7. Go to NOLA.COM
for info about activities.

Best Po-Boy, the Alpine on Chartres Street

Best place to dance and get crazy - Bourbon Street Blues Factory

Best place to hang out at midnight - Tropical Isle on Bourbon (not the one on Toulouse)

If anyone approachs you and says you aren't smiling tell them you are a local (from the northshore). They'll try to "fine" you and sell you a hat.

Don't talk to or make eye contact with anyone wanting to bet you they can tell you where you got dem shoes. (On your feet).

Wear cheap comfortable walk around shoes if on Bourbon. You'll do lots of walking and the street gets yucky as the day goes by.

Have a great time..

12. Hey BH, my nephew took his first trip to NO last weekend.
He called me from the Tropical Isle to ask where he should go.

I told him to sit down and enjoy were he was. He would have a good seat once it really got rolling.

13. I may go down tomorrow
to get a final four t-shirt, but the pollen is killing me. I do get a kick out of folks calling from bars in the Quarter and talking about where they are. Its like being on a different planet for people from Des Moines and Topeka. You take care.

8. Have fun!
The Men's Final Four is just down the road in San Antonio. I'm thinking about heading down for some of the festivities, but if the weather is bad, I'll stay home.

14. I'm so jealous
but then I'm a UConn fan! My husband and I went to the Final Four in Atlanta last year and it was a blast.
