Pineapple Sandwiches

1. Loved them when I was a kid. Mayo, white bread, pineapple...

2. Requires cream cheese. Bonus points if you have Boston Brown Bread (the stuff in a can).

Even MORE bonus points if you get the brown bread with raisins in it.

3. I can honestly say that I have never, ever had a pineapple sandwich.

I suppose it would depend on what else was in it. Like ketchup or horseradish, which would be nasty, but maybe cream cheese would be OK. I would think pineapple would make the bread soggy pretty fast if there was nothing to waterproof the bread with.

Of course, I only heard of putting pineapple on a pizza a year or two ago.

9. At first I thought yuck! But then got to thinking.

Few things are better than grilled pineapple slices. Along with some grilled ham, melted cheese on a jalapino bagle? Why not? I make a kick ass grilled Portobello and red pepper sandwhich with homemade Chipoltle garlic mayo so why not a pineapple sandwhich? I just baked a ham so I may try it in the next day or two.
