Before everyone settled on the name "mullet", I used to call it "the chad".

3. One night me and this other person were discussing the haircut.

I had said something about not knowing what to call it; I think it was in 1995 or 1996. He said "I think it has a name like 'the chad', but it's not that," and I said "yeah, but that's cool" and we started calling it that. It spread around to some other people like our friends.

Like....short on top and long down the back of the neck to protect from woodsy gnat and mosquito bites.
