9. Feed the Kitty!
Edited on Sun Apr-24-11 08:49 PM by pokerfan

(Feed the Kitty is a Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Chuck Jones and written by Michael Maltese, in which Bulldog Marc Antony (spelled Marc Anthony on his sleeping basket in the cartoon itself and called that by his mistress) adopts small cat Pussyfoot and tries to hide it from his owner. It was released theatrically on February 2, 1952. In 1994 it was voted #36 of the 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time by members of the animation field.)

10. A couple of years ago my stepdaughter was moving out
of our house to her own place and kindly (yeah, right) left her 2 guinea pigs because Bethan, her much younger (aged 2 at the time) loved them so. Needless to say, the 2 year old was terrified of the pigs and so I'm the one who got to take care of them. About 2 years later, one evening, our greyhound bitch walked out to the room the pigs were in and barked. Normally that meant she wanted to go out to the yard, but this particular evening she was facing away from the door and facing the pig cage. I looked over at the pigs and the older of the two, Marguerita, was on her back. Initially I thought she was dead, but then she started struggling to right herself. I picked her up and oriented her to the food bowl. The pig lived for another month or two. Had the dog not alerted me to the problem, she would have died a lingering death. As it was, she died as she lived - with her head in the food bowl.
