They were not well away from such a dangerous storm. You can see at the end of the video that their windshield is cracked, probably from debris from the tornado.

Tornadoes are notoriously unpredictable. At any moment that could have changed direction and headed right for them. And they have very little protection in a car.

I'm afraid someone is going to lose their life trying to get some 'awesome video'. :(
