I still recommend cutting out all extraneous sugars. That shit is toxic.

6. Yup. One balanced meal a day. Much slower weight loss that atkins but it is |
|
a lifestyle I can keep up, unlike the atkins diet (by week one I was having daydreams that I was in a bathtub full of mashed potatoes). I crave nothing really. I may get a little hungry late at night but keep myself busy and get through it.

The thing about diets is that you have to make it a new, and permanent way of eating. That's why most fail. They do the diet, lose the weight, then go back to the habits that caused them to be overweight in the first place.
You've got it beat already - "lifestyle I can keep up" - is the winning way. :bounce:

9. You are right, the same with an exercise plan - it needs to be sustainable....forever! |
|
I am just finding that out now as I look to transition out of the gym as the weather gets nice. I KNOW if I do I will lose all the muscle tone in my upper body. :-(

Over a year's time, I went from 230 lbs. to 145. I'd like to lose ten more pounds, but if I don't it's no big deal. I'm 59 for Pete's sake! (Also the first time in my life I have actual curves. When I weighed 100 lbs, I was straight up and down). Enjoy your weight loss and the pride that goes along with it. It's definitely worth it!

11. I congratulate you too.. I used to think people who were overweight lacked discipline. |
|
Until I got older, could no longer jog, had to eat more often due to metabolic problems and ---gained weight! It is a real struggle to lose it. I am walking one hour every day (well...5 days a week). And being careful what I eat.
I hope someday I can post similarly.
Wishing you good fortune for however much more you wish to lose.
