Bad Case of Loving you - Robert Palmer

Whooaaaaa
The hot summer night fell like a net
I've got to find my baby yet
I need you to soothe my head
Turn my blue heart to red

Doctor, doctor, give me the news
I've got a bad case of lovin' you
No pill's gonna cure my ill
I've got a bad case of lovin' you

A pretty face don't make no pretty heart
I learned that, buddy, from the start
You think i'm cute, a little bit shy
Momma, i ain't that kind of guy

Doctor, doctor, give me the news
I got a bad case of lovin' you
No pill's gonna cure my ill
I got a bad case of lovin' you
Whooaaa

I know you like it, you like it on top
Tell me, momma, are you gonna stop?

You had me down, 21 to zip
Smile of judas on your lip
Shake my fist, knock on wood
I've got it bad, and i've got it good

Doctor, doctor, gimme the news
I got a bad case of lovin' you
No pill's gonna cure my ill
I got a bad case of lovin' you

23. My all-original band back in the 90's had a few Dead-inspired musicians in it...
.
.
.
...and I had forgotten that one of the (only four) covers we did
was "Good Lovin'" (I'm pretty sure it made it to the stage).
.
.
.
After I sang it with the band for the first time during rehearsal,
our lead guitaist turned to me and laughed, "You've been listening
to Bobby MdFerrin again, haven't you?"
.
.
.
Yes, I had.
.
.
.

22. I had a weekly 1-hour Dr. Demento-like radio show of comedy-novelty music about 10 years ago...
.
.
.
...and our community radio station brought in Dr Demento to
do a live one-man show onstage. I got to be his go-fer for
that weekend.
.
Frankly, I couldn't see how it was going to work -- but the
packed venue LOVED it.
.
The station put him up at Hotel Congress in the heart of
downtown Tucson (the claim to fame of which is it's where
John Dillinger was staying when the FBI - briefly - took him
into custody). We were worried as it's right next to the
failroad tracks going through town and kinda noisy. Turns
out he's a railroad nut/buff and LOVED it -- asking if he
could be moved to the side of the hotel with a view of the
trains (they had no rooms open). The station's marketing
exec was ALSO a rallroad buff and his small railroad buff
club here was having one of its meetings that weekend, so
he got to show up with a real "celebrity guest". The club
members were nice, fun somewhat nerdy railroad fans and
he fit right in with them and had a blast.
.
I remember listening to him in a couple of locations that
included the Philadelphia area. His show (no matter where
it was syndicated) almost ALWAYS aired at midnight on
Sunday nights. I wasn't the only one dragging around work
on Monday morning because of him.
.
He was responsible for getting Weird Al Yankovic national
exposure after Weird Al gave him a home-recorded cassette
tape of some of his material.
.
Nice, odd little guy who brought a LOT of laughs to a LOT
of people over the decades. I was sad to see his onair
show was cancelled last year (after 36 years -- though
it's still streaming online).
.

18. Lime in the Coconut - Harry Nilsson (famous one-chord song)

Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one, she paid it for a lime.
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank them both up
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank them both up
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank them both up

She put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up,
And said, "Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take,
I say, Doctor, to relieve this belly ache?
I say, Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take,
I say, Doctor, to relieve this belly ache?"
"Now let me get this straight ",

Put the lime in the coconut, you drank them both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank them both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank them both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you called your doctor, woke him up,
And say, 'Doctor, ain't there nothing I can take,

I say, Doctor, to relieve this belly ache?
I say, Doctor, doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take,

I say, Doctor, dooooctor, to relieve this belly ache?'
Put the lime in the coconut, drink them both together,
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better,
Put the lime in the coconut, drink them both up,
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning
Wouh wouh wouh wouh wouh

Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one, she paid it for a lime.
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank them both up,
She put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up,
Say "Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take,

I say, Doctor, to relieve this belly ache?
I say, Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take,
I say Doctor! let me get this straight".
You put the lime in the coconut, drink them both up,
You put the lime in the coconut, drink them both up,
You put the lime in the coconut, drink them both up,
Put the lime in the coconut, you such a silly woman!,

Put the lime in the coconut, drink them both together,
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better.
Put the lime in the coconut, drink them both down
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning
Woo Woo, ain't there nothin' you can take, I say
Woo Woo, to relieve my belly ache,

You say woo woo ain't there nothin' I can take, I say
Woo woo, to relieve your belly ache,
You say yah yah, ain't there nothin' I can take, I say
Waah waah, to relieve this belly ache,

30. Check out the movie about Harry Nilsson. It's really good.
It's called "Who is Harry Nilsson and why is everybody talkin' about him?"

From the same people made the documentary about John Lennon a few years ago.
