I used to be a platelet nurse. I'm sorry to hear you felt so lousy afterwards...
Had you eaten before your donation? That can really affect how you feel. Or, did they take more products? If you usually give a single product, and this time you gave two (2 platelet products, or a platelet and a plasma product, for example) that can trash you too.
They are under pressure to increase what they draw, so that might have been it.
You might want to ask the next time you go in to donate...

I know they took a triple platelet today and I believe a red cell also. They have permission to take what they need from me. Usually it is based on what they have taken in the past. March was a double and April was a single. I have been beaten down by allergies the last couple months, so it all kind of came together today. I also do white cells when needed. About 2 years ago, I did 3 white cells in 7 days. Didn't move for about a day after that 3rd one.
