I have this terrible feeling...
I have this awful feeling my SO is about to give me the "I love you but I never want to see you again" talk.

*sigh*

We will see.... but the look on her face... it says it all.

1. I don't get that feeling at ALL!
At ALL! You guys are pretty nauseating on these threads, ya know? I mean that in the NICEST possible way, of course! :D

Granted, I don't *know* either of you, and have never seen you together in person - but I don't get the feeling that your post is correct.

she is just radiating this aura of "I want to break up with you but don't know how to without killing you".

I will talk to her at the first opportunity... I just have this awful feeling that it is going to be that.

15. Advice from a girl -
If you don't know what to say - and feel awkward saying anything at all - simply go sit next to her and say NOTHING. Lightly rub her neck, shoulders, feet, *whatever* in a relaxed, comforting manner. Just be near her, support her with your presence, and be a stablizing force.

If she claws your f...ing eyes out - well, you may be onto something. ;-)

I have a feeling, however, that she's probably just bummed out about something and feeling insecure. Of course, you are now feeling the same way - so you'll both keep feeling this way all night if no one sucks it up and makes the first move. That's a relationship killer in itself, man. Eventually - the insecurity gets more and more, and each person gets less and less apt to make the "first move" outside the comfort zone of insecurity - thus resulting in a downward spiral.

So - my first paragraph? Do it. The VERY worst that will happen is you'll find out for certain you're right. I think that's unlikely - but knowing is better than stewing about it in any case.

7. Maybe she's bummed out about something, and is waiting
for you to figure out what's bothering her so she can cry on your shoulder. Girls DO that, ya know? Ask em what's wrong. "Nothing." Figure out what's wrong without asking - "oh, you are so wonderful and I love you SOOO much." lol It's (mostly) true!

I'd go sit with her and ask her what's on her mind. Don't take "nothing" for an answer! Offer a backrub if she doesn't want to talk about it, and relax her into talkin' to ya. That's almost as good as being a mindreader and figuring it out on your own.

9. Thats just it...
She got home and since she has been here only said a few words to me. I tried to sit near her and she recoiled and sat on the opposite side of the room.

Thats why I think whats wrong is she wants to break up.

6. Why are you on the fucking COMPUTER!
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 01:52 AM by Argumentus
Take her by the hand, tell her you love her, and DO SOMETHING!

Kareoke, a movie, the freaky sex...it doesn't matter! Make her feel like she's special -- that she's the most important being in the universe. Sometimes it's just a little something that she needs.

Take it from someone who's fucked up every good thing he's ever had. And make sure it's something a little wild, or at least something you've never done together before.

Now, goddamnit.

Why are you still reading this?

17. Everything's Zen"
Let me repeawt myself: TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS FUCKED UP EVERYTHING GOOD:

THere's no reason you can't do something wild and spontaneous, and do it RIGHT FRIGGING NOW. Got kids? The neighbor drinking with you will babysit. House full of people? Fuck 'em. Nothing to do in your pissant little town? Cow tipping. I am completely dead serious.

the importnat thing isn't doing something fancy to save your relationship. It's helping her to understand just how much you think of her.

I wish to God I had someone who at least to care about me around right now, which is why I'm posting on a BBS at 11 o'clock on a Friday night instead of chasing after some girl ;-).

What, exactly, Everything's Zen, is "more complicated?"

Ummm... if the way you respond to having someone who at least cares about you is to spend Friday night chasing after some girl - no wonder you're posting on a BBS tonight!

LMAO

I know that's not what you meant, but damn, it was pretty funny. :D

22. LOL
I'm still laughing. And - oddly enough, I'm finding myself strangely attracted to you all of a sudden. I mean, sometimes a girl just likes to have a Friday night to herself. It's hard to find a man with outside "Friday night interests" - leaving a girl with a guilt free Friday night, all to herself. I'm taking applications!

lol

25. Are you currently married?
That would certainly be a change from my normal dates...

(see, I typed that whole sentence without a single spelling/grammatical error, which is proof that the devil possessed that one earlier post)

27. Ha! You too, eh?
Although - I haven't touched a married man in years.

Or - do you mean 'currently married' would be a change from your current dates and I just made the faux pas of "too much information"?

:spank:

Nope - not only not married, NEVER married. It's that damned Friday night thing, I'm telling you.

28. See, we have something in common
I haven't toucjed a married man in years, either.

"Curently married" would be the norm for my dates, God help me, though I really can't help it if I put off some kind of vibe for alcoholic women, usually in some kind abusive relationships. I hate to be vulgar, but sometimes you take what you can get. Several times in a row.

What Friday night thing? Except for the beer? And the lack of any responsibility tomorroe? And the strange compulsion to stay up as late as possible talking to complete strangers?

29. The "Friday Night Thing" -
was just a joke referring to my post about a girl having a friday night alone, in response to your post about finding someone that cared about you so you would spend your Friday nights looking for chicks instead of on a BBS. Jesus. Did you follow that? Not sure I could type it any clearer if I tried - sad as that is!

That sucks about the "currently married" track you're on - but then again, maybe it doesn't. The married part means you're in less danger of some psycho that won't leave afterwards and turns into some stalker that keeps calling and won't take "no" for an answer.

I don't know what's worse, YOUR vibe that attracts alcoholic married women with major issues, or MY vibe that attracts really needy men with no backbone and a passive aggressive streak.

I've decided, at the ripe old age of 31, that being single is a great thing, and if I never get married, so be it. If it happens, it happens, but if it doesn't, I'll certainly not be broken up over it.

30. Here's to bein' single, darlin'
:toast: We single people gots ta stick together, right?

Never feel bad about spending a Friday night alone. I've spent quite a few with someone else, wishing I were alone. If yer alone and happy, more power to you.

And I suspect that "MY vibe that attracts alcoholic married women with major issues, or YOUR vibe that attracts really needy men with no backbone and a passive aggressive streak" is actually the SAME vibe. What is it about decent people like you and me that attracts such freaking WEIRDOS? (present company excluded, of course)

Enjoy your Saturday morning, and don't let the company of a strange drunk man lessen your enjoyment of an otherwise smashing time.
