Poll question: Sirius or XM...?
I am thinking about getting it...I have heard that XM sucks but they have Air America...I heard that Sirius is better but no Air America...

1. Just got Sirius
for my boyfriend. My main reasons were at the time, Sirius had better talk (ie a liberal channel) and they also have the exclusive contracts with the sports - NHL, NFL, NBA. Sirius also gives you a password to listen to it streaming via the internet.

Air America's deal with XM is not exclusive as I understand it. So perhaps in the future we might see it on Sirius as well. I hope so. :-)

3. I heard that the XM version of Air America has been altered
including replacing two hours of the sensational Janeane Garofalo's show with, of all people, Alan "Please don't hurt me, Sean" Colmes.

Not surprising for a company that has Clear Channel as a stakeholder (although with a diminished financial role than they had at the beginning). Clear Channel is to Democracy as Ed Gein is to vegetarianism.

I was planning to get an XM setup this week to listen to Air America at work, but I think I'll wait.

4. Colmes on both
I can't believe it. He actually took Mike Malloy's slot on Sirius Left. I sent an email to complain.

The corporate big wigs think Colmes is a liberal. I had to turn it off last night. Just repulsive.

6. Here's a comparison chart:
http://www.cashflowbusiness.net/SIRI_vs_XM_radio.htm

I chose Sirius. Sirius is weaker on big band stuff, but otherwise it's become pretty equal to XM when it comes to music streams. I bought Sirius for the talk and sports. Sirius's satellite positioning sometimes requires you to adjust the receiver.
